Transportation accessibility remains one of the most important factors helping older adults stay socially connected and independent. If you require assistance to attend any senior day activity, it is also important to remember that many seniors' centres, community service agencies, recreation programs, and local senior organizations offer additional transportation supports, volunteer driver programs, community resources, and social services that may not always be widely advertised. If you need assistance, information, or help accessing programs in your area, do not hesitate to reach out and ask what supports are available.
Low-income seniors aged 60+ may qualify for a reduced annual transit pass for $45/year.

Seniors Month in British Columbia is an opportunity to celebrate the lasting impact older adults have on families, workplaces, neighbourhoods, and communities throughout the province. From free wellness expos and educational workshops to transportation supports, arts programming, volunteer opportunities, and social events, the 2026 celebrations focus on helping seniors remain active, connected, independent, and engaged.
Whether you are aging in place, living in a senior community, supporting a loved one as a caregiver, or searching for meaningful opportunities to connect with others, Seniors Month 2026 offers countless ways to participate, learn, socialize, and build community relationships across British Columbia.

The increase in scam calls and emails makes it essential to discuss with older adults in our lives how to recognize and avoid these threats.
Your donation helps provide essential home care, making it possible for local seniors to age with dignity and comfort.
